Is SMP Safe?
SMP is safe, non-Invasive, gentle, effective, and with minimal aftercare, SMP offers results that don’t require ongoing daily upkeep.
Consultation
At Forge & Fade, our certified SMP specialists provide a complimentary consultation to evaluate your level of hair loss and discuss your goals. This can be done at our Toronto, ON studio or virtually with photos submitted online.
We’ll design a custom hairline tailored to your features, lifestyle, and preferences—so you’ll see exactly what your final result will look like before starting treatment. From consultation to aftercare, our practitioners guide you through every step for the best outcome.
Booking Your Treatment
Once you’re comfortable with your treatment plan, we’ll secure your appointment with a $250 deposit. Most clients require 3 sessions, spaced 10–14 days apart, for optimal density and realism.
The Treatment Process
1. Consultation
During your first visit, an SMP artist will examine your scalp, explain the process in detail, and outline the risks and benefits of treatment.
2. Preparation
Prior to your first session, the scalp is prepared to ensure smooth application. On the day of treatment, your hair will be cut to a very short length for the most even results.
3. Pigment Application
Using specialized SMP equipment, natural pigments are applied in layered microdots that replicate shaved stubble. Each treatment session builds density for maximum realism.
4. Aftercare & Healing
You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing. Most clients experience only mild redness for a few days. Final results typically last 4–6 years before a refresh is needed.
Male and Female Pattern Baldness
Anyone suffering from hair loss can benefit from SMP. This includes men or women from male or female pattern baldness, scarring, burns, or any other reasons for hair loss. SMP works for all ages, skin types and skin colours.
If your hair is thinning, or their hairline is receding, SMP will restore their hairline and thicken the appearance of their hair.
SMP thickens appearance of hair with incredibly natural results.
SMP can add a thicker appearance of hair for women too.
Scar Camouflage
In addition to treating hair loss, SMP can disguise scars left by injury or hair transplant procedures.
- FUT Scars (linear strip scars): SMP can minimize contrast by blending pigment into surrounding hair.
- FUE Scars (tiny extraction marks): SMP reduces visibility, creating a smooth, natural finish.
While SMP won’t remove the scar, it can significantly reduce its appearance, restoring confidence and freedom to wear shorter hair.
